Our fifth day of Christmas

We had our first family Christmas celebration on December 23 (aka Gabriella's birthday!). We spent the day celebrating Ella (more to come on that) and the evening with mom's family. We had to "remind" Ella how exciting presents were to open at her birthday party this year. Since her birthday and Christmas are at the same time, it's been a whole year since we've done this! It's been fun...HOWEVER, now she doesn't have much patience once she lays eyes on those boxes/bags/wrapping paper! It's still as much about the actual opening as it is the gift inside. It doesn't even have to be about her. She enjoys watching (helping) everyone else too:)

Noticing a theme this year? First Pooh, now Eeyore and Piglet!

Our fourth day of Christmas: cookies!

Yet another tradition:)

We make and decorate Christmas cookies until we can't think of any other creative shapes and colors. We don't end up eating most of them. By the time we're through making them, we've all had more than enough cookie dough and icing, but they look festive for a few days (sometimes longer...) sitting around!

Our third day of Christmas: Snow!

I don't remember ever having snow before Christmas! Monday, December 13th, we woke up to a very fun surprise. Stephen had already scheduled the day off to be with the girls, and my office closed. So we got to spend a fun day together playing in the snow! Ella has seen snow before, but this was the first time she could get out and play in it!
Hot chocolate break! We watched Polar Express about a hundred times throughout the season, so the "Hot Chocolate" song from that movie seemed very appropriate.

Our second day of Christmas: the parade!

Let me start by saying that there will not be TWELVE days of Christmas;) I am not that ambitious! haha

Here are some pictures from one of my favorite traditions: the Knoxville Christmas Parade

Look closely...that's Harper in there! (You can barely see the top of her white and pink hat!)She took her waving duties very seriously;)
Ella and Mimi, couldn't break Ella away from the parade
Best seat in the house!
