Art

This girl spends hours painting, drawing, creating. The easel was probably the best investment we've made:)

oh, the drama!

One minute, everyone is swinging happily...

We pause to take a picture...

After patiently inquiring what the problem was...no, not because we stopped the swings...

...but because she wanted to be beside Aunt Heather! Whew! What an ordeal. She's still pouty in this picture, but recovering nicely:)

comforting routines

Sara and I have a few comforting routines. Tonight I am writing about our nightly wind down.

Almost every night Sara and I wind down with some sort of sweetly delicious snack and coffee. We usually get on kicks...like a week straight of chocolate chip cookies or a couple batches of brownies with ice cream. Sometimes we'll wind down with one of our favorite tv shows on dvd or we might just sit and chat about life. When we're having a night of chatting, if there is a plate of cookies between us, we'll usually lose track of time -- eat most of the cookies -- and talk about everything and nothing all at once. I know, I know; we nauseate ourselves sometimes but those nights mean the world to me and helps us reconnect as husband and wife after spending most of our waking hours as daddy and mommy.

What are some things you guys do to reconnect with each other?
